Caretaker- Chester A. Arthur Site

Caretaker needed for Chester A. Arthur site to share position – every other weekend.
Caretaker is responsible for opening and closing the Site and keeping it clean. Duties involve greeting the visitors, giving tours, and providing historical background of Chester Arthur, his steps to the presidency, and his accomplishments. Needs to track visitation and do basic accounting for the donations taken in at the site.  (We do not charge admission but hope visitors will make a donation).  Also responsible for opening and closing the nearby North Fairfield Church when the Historic Site is open. The caretaker also needs to be familiar with other attractions in the area and all of the State Historic Sites. We shall provide all necessary documentation for tours and training. This position is seasonal and part-time. The site is open July 4th to October 12th on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday holidays from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
There are a few suggested books available to enhance the caretaker’s knowledge of President Arthur: Gentleman Boss by Thomas Reeves, Chester Alan Arthur by Zachary Karabell, American Lawyer Presidents edited by Norman Gross, A President in Yellowstone by Frank Goodyear, and Saving Yellowstone, the President Arthur Expedition of 1883 by Robert E. Hartley. 
Applicant should be an independent self-starter, have at least a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
